All
overseas students coming to College must have a valid
international passport and many will need a visa before travelling to
the UK.
The British Government determines the list of
‘visa-national’ countries. Your
nearest British Council office or British Mission (British Embassy,
Consulate
or High Commission) will be able to tell you whether you need a visa,
also
known as ‘entry clearance’. The Foreign and
Commonwealth Office web site
features a visa enquiry form where you can check if you require a visa
and
print off the required forms: www.ukvisas.gov.uk
Immigration and entry
clearance:
If you are a Visa National, make sure you apply for entry clearance as
a
student and not as a visitor. Visa-National visitors are not allowed to
extend
their stay as students when they finish a visit. Once a student has
been
accepted by the College and has paid his/her tuition deposit, the
Admissions
Department will issue acceptance documents to be used for the visa
application.
Please contact the British Embassy, Consulate or High Commission in
your
country to find out which other documents are required.
Visa application procedure:
On the spot admission facilities are also provided in many countries by
College
staff during their overseas visit. As a part of the admission process
prospective students are given opportunity for interview and
counselling. When
registering, we ask students to complete the interview form with their
subject
interest. This gives students an opportunity to explain why they would
like to
take the course and indicate the way in which they would like to see
their
interests developing.
Documents:
When Students decide to join the course, they need to complete the
College
application form and submit it to authorised Agent or college staff who
will
send it to the college Registration department for further processing.
In addition,
they will be required to supply the college with the following:
- Photocopies
of qualifications and references
- 2
passport size photographs
- A
deposit, which will be counted towards their course fees. The College
will then issue you with a registration letter and other documents,
which are proof of their acceptance on the course and will be needed
when they apply for visa.
The Academy reserves the right to limit the number of international
students
admitted each year.
